THE KRYPTONITE WRESTLING KLUB

The Kryptonite Wrestling Klub (KWK) is one of the premiere Wrestling Clubs in Massachusetts led by an outstanding group of coaches and volunteers. Although KWK student/athletes can be from the surrounding areas the Kryptonite Klub is a part of what we consider the "North Wrestling Family," a bond created throughout our program that links the Men and Women who make up the NAHS Wrestling team and our U10 - U15 Division program.

The Kryptonite Klub is a member of USA Wrestling Massachusetts, a non-profit organization with the goal to promote the sport of wrestling in Massachusetts by informing, creating interest, and being responsible to the needs of Massachusetts Wrestling. One objective is to organize the state to create a competitive series for all members to compete from U10 Division to U15 Division, on a state wide level while continuing their growth throughout high school and beyond. This places KWK as a part of the larger national organization, USA Wrestling, which runs background checks on all of the coaches, supplies resources for the improvement of the organization, and covers insurance for both the club and each individual member. USA Wrestling also offers national competitions and further training for olympic competition and helps support USA Wrestling Olympic Team members.

KWK believes highly in not only the development of your athletes through a strong and well developed program but also in the development of its coaches who volunteer their time for your student/athletes. Program Director Brett Poirier was elected Chairman of the 2018 MYWA Board of Directors, he is a Bronze Certified Coach through USA Wrestling, and is both an Accredited and a Certified Coach under the National Federation of High Schools. In 2023 he finally stepped down from the board of directors of USA Wrestling Massachusetts. His expertise and beliefs is not just in the development of this program and it's students/athletes as wrestlers but in the greater picture, to develop boys and girls to young men and women through the sport of wrestling. KWK is firm in its belief that no other sport helps develop life lessons and skills better than wrestling.

History of the North Attleborough Youth Wrestling Association

The North Youth Wrestling Association (501c3 Non-Profit 04-3560777) presents, The Kryptonite Wrestling Klub (KWK). Started in 2001 by Tom Taylor, the North Youth Wrestling Association is the youth wrestling program in the Attleboro Area for any athlete from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Coach Taylor led this program for many years developing a strong program that helped build some of North Attleborough’s finest athletes. He did this with the simple goal to develop boys and girls into young men and women through the sport of wrestling. That tradition continues to this day as Coach Taylor handed the program over in 2013 to KWK alum and current Program Director Brett Poirier. Brett Poirier expanded the program for the inclusion of more age groups, towns and the expansion of their own space. The first change was an inclusion of the U10 Division (formerly the K-4th Grade) and recently added KWK’s new “Old Man Wrestling”! He then expanded to include athletes throughout the region. We introduced wrestling to youth all over including; Attleboro, Plainville, Wrentham, Norfolk, Cumberland, RI, Taunton, Norton, Mansfield and More! The final expansion came in 2022 when KWK moved to Next Movement to gain it’s own space for practices and events!

It is our simple requirements of each of our athletes; Work Hard, Improve Everyday and Have Fun, that separates our program from all others. Check the Schedule Page for details on your specific class. Practicing out of Next Movement, at 109 Washington Street, Plainville, MA we have a convenient location for the region! Events are usually on Sundays and are not required for participation in our program.

Our League

KWK is a major part of two youth wrestling leagues; The Hockomock Youth League and The Massachusetts Wrestling Association (MWA). Through this KWK is able to offer local competitive matches within a league of teams from our area including dual meets and league tournaments. Our athletes will compete through a regular season and then a state wide organized post season to close out the year.
